Greetings, When I opened the doors of Rejoice School of Ballet 20 years ago, I could not have imagined all that God would allow us to accomplish, with your help, in the past two decades.
More than 2,500 students
More than 3,000 leotards, shoes and costumes provided to those students
More than 40 recitals and performances to celebrate those same students
More than 60 passed ABT exams, 10 Nashville Ballet Summer Intensive scholarships, three students now training full time on scholarship at the Nashville Ballet Academy.
These numbers tell an important story. We make excellent ballet training accessible to any Nashville student because of our income-based sliding scale.
But we offer more than ballet. Our dancers participate in programming that focuses on life skills, diversity, health and nutrition, and spiritual formation. They learn new ways to pray. They explore and discuss racism with trained counselors. They learn about resilience and develop coping skills.
We want to continue combining excellent ballet training with helping students develop life skills for success. Today I am asking for your support to build on the past 20 years by investing in the next 20 years.
We are proud of our 20 year legacy in Nashville. We planned a big party for this fall with fancy clothes, food, and performances by our dancers. Covid-19 changed our plans. Now we must prioritize the health and safety of our community. So, we’ll be celebrating by doing what we’ve always done – teaching dance, teaching life skills, and celebrating our diversity.
We will have that party one day, but for now, I am asking you to invest in the future of Rejoice as a way to nurture, celebrate and empower dancers from diverse backgrounds.
I want to thank you for every gift you’ve shared with Rejoice and ask that you support us as we celebrate our 20th anniversary. It’s my honor to have a front row seat to how your support has impacted thousands of lives in Nashville.
To invest in our next 20 years, please donate here.
With gratitude, Patricia Cross Founding Executive Director
